Ginger Moment

Erm...It seems that the title of this blog is a little TOO appropriate. I've been a bit ginger (the new blonde!): I planned to fly from Stanstead to Munich to Riga (Latvia) to Tbilisi all on the same day- at least, I THOUGHT that was what I'd booked...luckily I did a double-check today because I found out that instead of five hours in Riga, I'll actually be there 28 HOURS!!! Arghhhh!!! After much swearing at my stupidity, I decided I would have to look on the bright side: I'm going to get the chance to see a very beautiful city that I would otherwise have flown over obliviously! I've contacted the airport information desk and asked if the airport is open all night (to save on hotel bills!) and if there's somewhere I can lock up my suitcase during the following day. It's only 30p to get into the city by bus, so I plan to spend the day exploring before heading back to the airport for my flight to Georgia that evening. I've just downloaded a few basic phrases in Latvian from byki.com- they do speak good English over there but having some words in my head will help, no doubt! Oh well. Asi es mi vida! :-)
