Irina's Birthday

Here you can see Koko and Nicole. Last Monday we were invited to the birthday party of one of Dima's old school friends, Irina. We ate a gorgeous spread in a restaurant and Dima and I danced to romantic songs while Nicole became tamada (Toastmaster)- which is not usually a woman's job but she HAS been here over a year and is very well versed in all Georgian traditions, particularly around the dinner table! (In case you haven't heard, the Georgians love toasting- love, life, friendship, the dead, children etc.- and they have quite a strict etiquette about how it's done eg. in a drink to the dead the men stand but the women must remain seated!). Btw- that green stuff in front of Nicole is Tarragon lemonade- very refreshing!!!
