Hello people! Bet you're all bored of my blog by now! Thought I'd get round to updating at last. I put some fotos on Facebook as I still can't upload here for some reason so look me up there.
So much has happened- some good, some bad -and most of it on the past few weeks!!!
We sold the gloomy first floor flat in Vake and have bought a bright modern 2nd storey flat in Saburtalo (which will add just 10 minutes in a minibus to my journey to and from work so not too bad!). It's a two-bedroom place with modern lighting, a fitted kitchen and parquet flooring. It has a balcony, big windows and a fireplace, plus a bathroom with Italian taps! I love it. Outside is green land with trees and other people's vegetable patches, which means the air is fresh, and the road it's on is nice, quiet and safe. Dima and I will live there with Naira and Shama until our house is built in Tsavkisi Valley (www.tsavkisi.ge) and then move out. The architects are just finishing perfecting our house design this week, then the builders will move on to our patch o'land and start digging. It should take around 6 to 9 months to get it to the stage we can start painting the insides and installing furniture. Very exciting- and it's gonna have a pool!!!
Sad news is that Dima's granny (at 94) and aunt (only in her 60s!) both died last week so we've spent a lot of time mourning and at funerals! Also, Shama hasn't been well but he's spent the past two days in hospital and is coming out tomorrow so we're hoping his strength will be up for the move next week.
I'm working as hard as ever. My easter break (last weekend here) was only a one-day holiday as my boss insisted on working as normal the other two days I should have had!!! Dima and I visited a friend in her village in the far west of Georgia for a relaxing night of fresh-air- much needed. On the way back we detoured to a tourist town where a King is buried- but it was all shut up! Anyway, the drive and the unknown was nice!!!
Lots of campfires being had too whenever the (changable!) weather is nice- meat on skewers in the middle of a wood with friends and wine- something we could never do in the UK! I love it!
More news to follow very soon. Lots of love to you all. Missing you!

Heya Chick,

Glad all is going well on the moving front. That's good news. I'll look at your FB pics.

Lots of love

PS. Yes, you can do that in the UK!
