The first picture you can see is from our day-trip to Upitsikhe- a 13th century cave "castle" which protected the Georgians of the time from the invading Turks. It was difficult to find the entrance (a steep climb on shaky wooden stairs) but the view up top was breath-taking: the whole valley with the river flowing through it. And to see the living and bedchambers, the throne room and games square was quite incredible!
The other photos show when we went camping one Saturday with Nicole and Dima's friend Joni (a devout Orthodox Assyrian who is planning to become a priest- but with a great out-going, intelligent and fun-loving personality) to a wood beside Lake Bazaleti some 40 minutes outside of Tbilisi. It was raining. But did that stop us? Uh-huh! Tents up, mosquito-spray on and we started cooking the meat... :-)
